Why a podcast?
The Fort Worth Frequency is a hyper-local podcast. This means we are a podcast where you can listen to locals talk about the local things, in our case all things Fort Worth. This podcast is different from big box news and entertainment in that we are run by locals for locals.
Why a podcast?
Podcasts are special in todays media landscape because they differ vastly from media one typically consumes in two big ways. Firstly, instead of trying to give the viewer whiplash, as achieved by short form content, podcasts slow the exchange of information to a more plateable speed of conversation which can be enjoyed on a commute, sipping a cup of coffee, or washing the dishes. Secondly, podcasts help elevate voices of locals in the community. They can provide a place where listeners may get to know a small business owner, local politician, or a next door neighbor.
Why Listen?
Much of what we consume from a media standpoint has very little to do with our local community. While we typically have access to great calamities and success stories from all over the world, we may not know what is going on in our own backyard. Many global events often have little to no impact on our day to day lives. This is not to say I do not believe there is benefit to being globally aware. On the contrary, I believe both can be enriching in day to day life. However local events have potentially huge impacts on ourselves and our local community (think road construction on 820). My goal is to shine a spotlight on interesting things about Fort Worth past present and future.
Thanks for reading! Hope to see you frequencyly
